Across from the Ford Theater, where President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, it a local favorite called the Waffle Shop. It always seems so out of place among the glass and steel buildings, the historic places, the aura of downtown DC. It’s more a dive, a diner, a place where you’re taken back several decades to a different time. And somewhere in my gut I get the feeling that one day it’ll be replaced with something too elegant, too pricey and too insignificant to the locals in order to pry as much money away from the tourists as possible.
So, I wanted to get a photo of Najwa at this landmark joint just in case one day it’s a page in the history books like President Lincoln.
